Cake size and serving questions
What size cake do I need?
It depends on your guest count and whether the cake is the main dessert. Our 6-inch cake gives 6–8 dessert portions, the 8-inch gives 10–12, and the 10-inch gives 14–16. Tell us how many people you're expecting and we'll recommend the right size.
How many people does a 6-inch cake serve?
A 6-inch cake gives 6–8 dessert portions — a lovely choice for an intimate gathering or a small family celebration.
How many people does an 8-inch cake serve?
An 8-inch cake gives 10–12 dessert portions, which suits most birthday parties and mid-sized celebrations.
How many people does a 10-inch cake serve?
A 10-inch cake gives 14–16 dessert portions — a good choice for larger gatherings and events.
How tall are your cakes?
All of our single-tier cakes are three layers, with buttercream between each layer and around the outside.
What counts as a dessert portion?
Our portions are generous dessert servings — the size you'd happily serve as a proper slice of cake. If your cake is one of several desserts, you can comfortably stretch the numbers.
Do you make two-tier or larger cakes?
Two-tier cakes are coming soon. In the meantime, contact us for large celebration or wedding cake enquiries and we'll help you plan something special.
What if I need more cake than the largest size?
For larger guest counts we can quote a custom design or additional cakes. Send us your numbers with a quote request and we'll advise on the best option.
